Exponential CMS (Exponential Platform 6.x) is an enterprise-grade content management system for professional websites, intranets, and digital platforms. This guide covers your first steps after installation.

Logging In to the Admin Interface

  1. Open your site’s admin URL — on a standard installation this is https://yourdomain.com/admin. Some setups map a dedicated admin hostname instead (your installer or welcome notes will say which).
  2. Enter the administrator username and password you set during installation and sign in. You’ll land on the Exponential Platform dashboard.

Key Areas of the Admin Interface

  • Content: the content tree where pages, articles, and folders live — this is where day-to-day editing happens.
  • Media library: upload and reuse images, documents, and other files.
  • Admin → Users: manage user accounts and user groups.
  • Admin → Roles: control who can create, edit, publish, or delete content.
  • Admin → Content types: the data models (article, folder, blog post…) that define your content structure.

Installations that include the classic interface may also have a legacy admin siteaccess — the older, fully-featured administration panel used for advanced setup tasks.

First Steps

  1. Change the default admin password to something strong and unique.
  2. Create editor accounts under Admin → Users — never share the admin login.
  3. Browse the content tree and create a test page to learn the editing workflow.
  4. Set up scheduled backups (see our Plesk backup guide) before making big changes.

Working from the Command Line

If you have SSH access, Exponential’s console lives at bin/console in the installation directory — e.g. php bin/console list shows all available commands for cache, cronjobs, users, and maintenance.
