Locked out of wp-admin? There are three easy ways to get back in.
Method 1: The “Lost Password” Link
- Go to
yourdomain.com/wp-login.php. - Click Lost your password?
- Enter your admin email and follow the link WordPress sends you.
Method 2: Reset via Plesk WP Toolkit
- Log in to Plesk and open WordPress.
- Click your site, then Setup (or the admin password option).
- Set a new administrator password directly — no email needed.
Method 3: Reset via phpMyAdmin
- In Plesk go to Databases → phpMyAdmin and open your WordPress database.
- Open the
wp_userstable and click Edit beside your admin user. - In the
user_passfield, choose MD5 from the function dropdown, type your new password, and save.
After You Get Back In
- Use a strong, unique password — wp-admin is the most attacked login on the internet.
- Consider limiting admin accounts to people who actually need them.
