Email Settings for Desktop and Mobile (IMAP, POP3, SMTP) Print

  • imap settings, smtp settings, email configuration, outlook setup, phone email
  • 0

Use these settings to connect your 7x mailbox (you@yourdomain.com) to Outlook, Apple Mail, Thunderbird, Gmail, or your phone’s mail app.

Recommended: IMAP

IMAP keeps mail on the server, so all your devices stay in sync — read, delete, and folders match everywhere.

  • Incoming server (IMAP): mail.yourdomain.com
  • Port: 993
  • Encryption: SSL/TLS

Alternative: POP3

POP3 downloads mail to one device. Use it only if you want mail stored locally and removed from the server.

  • Incoming server (POP3): mail.yourdomain.com
  • Port: 995
  • Encryption: SSL/TLS

Outgoing Mail (SMTP)

  • Outgoing server (SMTP): mail.yourdomain.com
  • Port: 587 (or 465)
  • Encryption: STARTTLS or SSL/TLS
  • Authentication: required — use the same username and password as incoming mail.

Account Details

  • Username: your full email address (you@yourdomain.com) — not just the part before @
  • Password: the mailbox password you set in Plesk

Troubleshooting

  • “Cannot connect to server”: replace mail.yourdomain.com with your server’s hostname (found in your welcome email) — some setups use that instead.
  • Certificate warnings: make sure the hostname matches the SSL certificate; using the server hostname avoids mismatches.
  • Can receive but not send: confirm SMTP authentication is enabled in the app’s outgoing settings.
